FAQ
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) requires us to assess your investment knowledge and experience through Customer Account Review (CAR) and/or Customer Knowledge Assessment (CKA) to access Specified Investment Products (SIPs).
Any 1 of the following criteria can be satisfied to trade in SIPs:
- Relevant Education Qualification
- Professional Finance-related Qualification
- Relevant Working Experience
- Investment Experience
- SGX SIP Online Education Module (For listed SIPs)
- ABS-SAS E-Learning Modules (For unlisted SIPs)
Specified Investment Products (SIPs) are financial products with structures and features that may be more complex in nature and require more knowledge to understand.
Examples of listed SIPs are Exchange Traded Products, Bonds, Futures, Options etc. To learn more about listed SIPs, click here to sign up for SGX SIP Online Module.

Yes, it is mandatory by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) regulations.
All Singapore brokers have to assess that investors have the relevant knowledge and experience before they can invest using SIPs as part of the initiatives by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) to provide trading safeguards to retail investors from 2012.
Customer Knowledge Assessment (CKA) for unlisted SIPs will be valid for 1 year.
Customer Account Review (CAR) for listed SIPs will be valid for 3 years.
CKA/CAR is included as part of the sign up process for all ProsperUs applicants.

You can sign up for and complete the online modules offered by SGX and ABS-SAS.
Listed SIPs:

Online learning module with SGX covers the key features and risks of listed SIPs. The module takes approximately 40mins to complete and you will need to score at least 15 out of 20.
Unlisted SIPs:
Click here to sign up for ABS-SAS E-Learning Modules.
ABS-SAS offers five modules of the SIPs. You will be required to pass in the selected assessment of the module for a SIP you are interested to invest in. You will need to score at least 13 out of 15.
After you have completed the modules you are interested to invest in, proceed to complete our ‘Client Profile Form‘ and email the filled form to [email protected].
